Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure. - Oprah Winfrey
When you look back at a situation, you often find yourself thinking about how you could have handled it better if you just had more time to evaluate the actions and outcomes.
Taking a moment to assess a situation and just pause to clear your mind can make the biggest difference to your day and can stop you from acting in a way that could have a negative wave flow through your whole day.
So how do you pause effectively?
Pausing the right way is one of the best methods of self-care. It will deter you from acting on strong emotions in a heat of the moment that can sometimes come back to bite us.
We know this isn't the first time you've heard this, but we hope this inspires you to try it again;
The Ritual
1. (Optional) Apply chosen balm onto your wrist, neck, and temples
2. Place your hands on your abdomen
3. Deeply inhale (the Scentered therapeutic natural aromas)
4. Take 3 deep breaths.
Breath 1, place your hands on your chest,
fingertips touching and breathe into them, feel your fingers part at
the deepest part of the breath, exhale mindfully.
Breath 2, move your hands to the tummy, breathe consciously and deeply fill your lungs, feeling movement beneath your hands.
Breath 3, place your hands onto the lower abdomen and inhale deeply into the whole body, pause, hold your breath here, and then exhale as slowly and mindfully as you can.
What happens if we don't pause?
Being under pressure is one of the main reasons we miss inner signals of reason. When we open up to acting too much on irrational decisions we let in the possibility of more stress, frustration, and even anger. Think of breathing as a time to create the perfect plan to be in charge of a situation not let the situation take charge of you.We hope that this blog aids and inspires you to take time to better your decisions in only a few short breaths that could simply make your life easier.
