Tuesday 10th October is World Mental Health Day and we know how important it is to look after your own mental health.
By combining aromatherapy & jigsaw puzzles, you can create a mindful and relaxing activity that can offer a range of benefits for your mental health. For example, the calming scents of essential oils can help to enhance the relaxing and stress-relieving effects of solving a puzzle.
Step 1: Choose your favourite Wentworth Wooden Puzzle and Scentered aromatherapy balm and candle set. We chose the de-stress scent with chamomile, neroli & mandarin combined with our best-selling shaped puzzles ‘Autumnal Fox’ so we can indulge in the cosy autumn vibes too.
Choose a puzzle that you enjoy and that is challenging enough to keep you engaged, but not so difficult that it becomes frustrating. Choose a Scentered candle and balm set in a scent that you find relaxing and calming.
Step 2: Set up your puzzle space.
Find a quiet and comfortable place to work on your puzzle. Clear away any distractions and make sure that you have good lighting. Place your Scentered candle within your puzzle space and apply the aromatherapy balm to your pulse points.
Step 3: Light your candle and Stop.Inhale.Reset.®
Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths, inhaling the calming scent of your Scentered candle and aromatherapy balm. Focus on your breath and try to clear your mind of any worries or thoughts.
Step 4: Begin working on your puzzle.
When you feel ready, begin working on your puzzle. As you work, focus on the task at hand and try to be present in the moment. Notice the different colours, shapes, and textures of the puzzle pieces. Pay attention to how your hands feel as you move the pieces around.
Step 5: Take breaks.
If you start to feel frustrated or your mind starts to wander, take a break. Get up and move around or take a few deep breaths. You can also close your eyes and focus on the scent of your Scentered aromatherapy balm and candle.
Step 6: Enjoy the process.
Remember, the goal is not to finish the puzzle as quickly as possible. The goal is to enjoy the process of putting the puzzle together. So, take your time and savour the experience. Think of this time as a moment to practice mindfulness and de-stress.
Step 7: When you're finished, take a step back and admire your work.
Once you've finished your puzzle, take a step back and admire your work. Take a few deep breaths and enjoy the sense of accomplishment.
By following these tips, hopefully you can create your own mindful moment with Wentworth Puzzles and Scentered.
